IT'S NOT A REVIEW – Meet Sybil and Lea in the virtual bar for a post show chat about Sydney Theatre

SEX.VIOLENCE.BLOOD.GORE – BY ALFIAN BIN SA’AT
DIRECTED BY STEPHEN NICOLAZZO
MKA: THEATRE OF NEW WRITING
IN ASSOCIATION WITH TAMARAMA ROCK SURFERS – OLD FITZROY THEATRE
4 – 8 SEPTEMBER 2012
Lea: Entranced! What seemed like snippets from disparate stories all came together in a compelling and high-powered emotional production. Excellent, committed performances. They appeared broadly painted, but quickly revealed depths that took me by surprise. The kind of theatre I love! May I just add that I LOVE this intimate theatre space.
Sybil: I had no pre-conceptions about this show – knowing nothing about it before walking in to the theatre space and being enveloped in a multi-sensory, multi-cultural experience. The nuance of Singapore culture was brought to the stage through stylised and visually stunning direction in a space that seemed designed for this intimate style of theatre. Flawless and brave performances all round – and I particularly loved the costuming. Just gorgeous.
